Went to see the pandas today, there are almost seventy of them in captivity in Chendu and about another couple of hundered locked up elsewhere and somewhere in the region of 1,600 running wild. Now even if those figures are not quite accurate there is still going to be less than 2,000 giant pandas and that makes them an endangered species.Anyway, it was a nice little trip in the taxi that took us out through the suburbs of the city and the more I see of this town the more I have to say that it is one of the more pleasant cities I have seen in China. Still we will keep this post short and simple and stick to the pandas.
