Since beginning this blog there has been, at least, one small revelation for me and that is there is the very important discovery that a real liberal is different from a fake liberal. The news, the real news, is invariably that, which is articulated by the real liberals, while the fake liberals are forever spouting out political platitudes that sound a bit like running off the capital cities of the world. Michael Tomasky, who writes a blog for the 'Guardian' is a fake liberal, while Noam Chomsky, is a real liberal. Of course, what we are talking about here is my definition, or definitions, of "liberal". Whatever, one thing is for sure and that is the fake liberals are there to paint over the real issues, while the real liberals get into the nitty gritty, into a bit of serious investigation, ask some serious questions, address some serious issues and tend to write for magazines like 'Counterpunch' and 'Dissident Voice', whereas you will find the fake liberals writing for newspapers like 'The Guardian' and 'The New York Times'; they won't be getting into the nitty gritty or the serious investigations and they won't be asking any really awkward questions. They are actually a godsend to the establishment because their being there cons everyone into believing that we have a democracy and that people have different opinions and that we have choices. Well, as long as the real liberals are there, maybe we still do have different opinions and we still do have a choice. However, you won't find those things coming from the fake liberals.
Finally, in politics we also have real liberals, like Chavez, like Morales ...... mmm, not many and then we have the fake liberals, like the Clintons and Tony Blair and, going back a bit, John F Kennedy and ...... oh and, yes, now we have Barack Obama. Now, the real problem with these people is that they pursue the very same policies as their all too obviously fascist predesessors but do so under the guise of liberalism and I would suggest that if any of you really want to know what is really going on, try to, at least, read the real liberals. Under my links and the blog list there is a lot of stuff written by real liberals. However, be careful as there is also a lot of stuff written by fake liberals. Still, the newspapers and journals, which the fake liberals contribute to, tend to have good sports sections and when they are writing about sport the fake liberals are not too different from the real liberals. If I had one big wish, I would turn all the fake liberals into sports journalists and only have the real liberals write about the real issues. Now, if that were to happen, there really would be change.
