AP, 'The New York Times, CNN and the BBC who are all, in my opinion, regular contributors to the daily drudge that we call news and who all can hardly be accussed of anti-Israel sentiments, do, nevertheless, appear to have held onto the vestiges of an ethical journalism. They have sent a letter of protest to the Olmert government because of the ban on journalists entering Gaza. Olmert has responded by saying that he is displeased with media coverage because it inflates Palestinian suffering. Piffle and it would appear that even the mainstream pro-Zionist media cannot be relied on to ignore the true suffering and the nature of the crime that is taking place.
News does get out, however, and with the UN General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon, criticising Israel and calling on Israel to end the siege, with children going hungry and with homes, hospitals and other essential facilities without electricity and with the United Nations warning that "we" face a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, it is surely time for the "real" international community to stand up and be counted.
