Western Values 2

In attacks that have left hundreds injured and, at least, 195 dead, 'Haaretz' today reports that among those dead were eight Israelis. Forget the fact that some of the dead were holding dual citizenship and that one man, Gavriel Holzberg, was an Israeli-born American rabbi. According to 'Haaretz', they were all Israelis.(1) Of course, these victims of this despicable act are victims every bit as much as the other 187 dead, however, a number of questions arise from this report.
Here we have Israelis with the luxury of having dual nationality, while millions of Palestinians are being deprived of their own state. Moreover, it would appear, that being born in Israel automatically makes you an Israeli citizen, providing your parents are Jewish, of course, even when later on you have opted for the nationality of another country and, indeed, it would appear that for 'Haaretz' that being Jewish is almost sufficient to make you an Israeli. Of course, unfortunately for Livni, 'Haaretz' and the rest of the Zionist state's establishment and, fortunately, for the rest of us, not every Jew would see it like that. Or do you see Professors Finkelstein and Chomsky queueing up for Israeli passports?
One thing to come out of the 'Haaretz' report is that it is at least indicating that these attacks were more than just anti-semitic and the paper writes, "Hundreds of people were also wounded in the attacks, which appeared to target locations popular with foreigners."(2) Of course, foreigners, as Livni, said, who share Israel's "western values".(3)It now looks as if some of the terrorists who are now under arrest are British Muslims.(4) Ms Livni, if you are looking for foreigners who share the Jewish state's values, there you have them and those are, fortunately, not values shared by most people and that, of course, includes most Jews.
